Our History

Blanton's Limousin Farm

Blanton's Limousin Farms started in 1969 with a partnership between Henry Blanton and George Cocoros.  At this time the cattle raised was a mixture of Holstein and Brown Swiss   After the addition of the limousin bull,Prince Pompadore, to the herd production shifted to all limousin.  Now the herd is owned and ran by Robert Blanton, son of Henry Blanton.

South Mountain Limousin Farm

South Mountain Limousin Farm is owned and ran by Kevin Parker and his wife, Sonya.  Kevin became interested in cattle when he was a young boy attending cow sales with his Grandpa.  In 1974, Kevin bought his first set of commerical cows.  Then later in 1989, he bought his first Limousin bull, which began his interest in Limousin cattle.  Over the years he attended the Annual Limousin Cow Sale in Anderson, SC, where he purchased several head of Limousin cattle.

Our partnership

The Limousin Cattle Sale in Anderson, SC, is where Kevin and Robert met in 1993.  They remained in contact over the years.  In 1999, Kevin and Robert went into a partnership and bought four Limousin cattle together.  Their partnership grows as they continue to purchase more Limousin cattle.

All their cattle are now full blooded, polled and registered with the North American Limousin Foundation.  Currently the herd is breed 70% by artificial insemination and 30% natural breeding.  Our full efforts today go into producing the highest quality beef livestock using the best blood lines available.  Our opinion is that quality is more important than quantity.
